No. 7 Texas A&M (33-8, 14-6 SEC) is coming off its fifth consecutive SEC series win after defeating Florida 2-1 for the first time on the road since joining the SEC, just a week after sweeping LSU on the road. With three SEC series left before the SEC Tournament, the Aggies are looking to finish off strong and earn a Top 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After hosting Tarleton State on Tuesday, No. 8 Auburn will head to College Station for a massive home series, and for those keeping track, Texas A&M is just half a game behind Georgia for the No. 1 spot in the SEC standings, needing to keep pace with the Bulldogs for any shot of winning the regular season title and earning a bye in the SEC Tournament.
With all the doubt surrounding second-year head coach Michael Earley, who, after leading the Aggies to their worst regular-season finish in more than a decade, was given a second chance by AD Trev Alberts to right the ship, and after a 1-4 start to SEC play, Texas A&M might be the hottest team in all of college baseball heading into the week.
On Tuesday, Baseball America released its latest NCAA Tournament Bracket prediction, as writer Jacob Rudner placed the Aggies as the sixth overall seed, hosting a regional, hosting Cincinnati (Big 12), Virginia Tech (ACC), and Army (Patriot), which would provide Earley's veteran squad a great chance to make it back to the Super Regional Round for the first time since 2024.
