Utah transfer Terrence Brown is one of the best players in the transfer portal and someone the Kentucky Wildcats were hoping to get on campus for a visit this weekend.
That won’t be happening, as the standout point guard has postponed his visit due to a family matter, according to KSR’s Jacob Polacheck. The trip could be rescheduled but is off for the time being.
The 6-3, 175-pound Brown averaged 19.9 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 rebounds per game this past season with the Utes. The soon-to-be senior shot 45.3% from the field and 32.7% from 3-point range while primarily running the point but occasionally playing the 2 spot.
The Wildcats clearly think Brown and other transfer options can share the backcourt duties with Zoom Diallo, as they’ve continued to recruit guys who primarily played the point last season, like Alex Wilkins and Cruz Davis, the latter having committed to Texas Tech before he could make his visit to Lexington.
The Kansas Jayhawks and North Carolina Tar Heels have both hosted Brown for a visit, so unless Kentucky can get a visit in, those other two blue bloods should be considered the favorites for now.
There’s also this post from Brown’s Instagram story of Larry Brown, who played at North Carolina from 1960-63, was an assistant there from 1965-67, and was the Kansas head coach from 1983-88.
So yeah, seems like a good sign for those two schools.
