The Kentucky Wildcats are still in the running for two of their top transfer portal recruits in Virginia Tech forward Neoklis Avdalas and Utah point guard Terrence Brown.
According to Jeff Goodman, Kentucky has made the cut for Brown, who is now down to the Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels, USC Trojans, Kansas Jayhawks, Oregon Ducks, and Ole Miss Rebels. Kentucky had a Zoom call with Brown this week.
Primarily a point guard, Brown has occasionally played off the ball during his three college seasons, two of which were at Fairleigh Dickinson before he transferred to Utah this past season. On3 actually has Brown listed as a shooting guard and ranked 43rd overall in the transfer portal. He was teammates with Ansley Almonor during the 2023-24 season.
Meanwhile, Jon Rothstein says Kentucky is among the programs showing strong interest in Avdalas, who will not be taking any visits. That could indicate this recruitment will end rather quickly and in favor of whoever is offering him the best deal. He too had a Zoom call with Kentucky this week.
Avdalas is a versatile forward coming off a promising freshman season with the Hokies and can play the 1-4 spots, giving whoever lands him some tremendous lineup versatility. On3 has him ranked ninth overall in the portal.
