If I never hear Rocky Top ever again in my life it will be too soon. :D

and the Purina Dog Chow Checkerboard end zone paint. The only chant that might be worse than Rocky Top might be the FSU Semihole War Chant.

It was a good game. Thought Tennessee really took back the MO in the 3rd quarter and thought they might just win the game. Cal looked better than I thought though and this was a very good win for them and the Pac-10.

I have to say though, having seen Jackson for the first ime, I was not impressed. As a punt returner he was good (amazing return) but as a WR he was a bit pedestrian.. Looked a little lost at times and the screen pass he took he tried to jitterbug instead of heading north-south, and got caught behind the LOS.

Was this just a bad game at WR for him?

That's an understatement.

Yep and kudos to Tedford for bluffing all summer about how much the kid would play. They said he might have some special teams stuff and a few returns but he wasn't likely to play all that much. He was covering kicsk early in the game but he was essentially the backup RB to Forsett and had several KO returns.

Kid is a stud, Tennessee has a transfer Kenny something or other from Skyline in Oakland, he was the state champ in the 100 meters prior to Best, I think he was a couple of years ahead of him so I don't know if they ever ran head to head. Best is faster than DeSean Jackson.

I love Jackson cocky kid but he's just so good, that punt return was unreal they should have tackeld him right when he caught the ball and he winds up scoring.

Worried about the thumb though.

hope he's OK - i thought it was a bit irresponsible of ABC to jump straight to the "he's not moving down here" angle - just hope for the best and keep your mouth shut until you get some tests

he was moving his arm a bit going off the field - don't want to see any of these kids get damaged

FYI less than an hour ago they said it's a concussion and the CT scan was negative which is a good thing.

And yes totally agree the reporter was completely irresponsible saying he wasn't moving and it didn't look good etc. Don't they stop and think the kid probably has family watching the game? They're scared enough as it is don't guess about something like that.

So glad my ex girlfriend's son isn't playing football anymore everytime I see one of those plays I remember just how dangerous the game can be.

Honestly no it was a bad game from Nate Longshore. Jackson had at least 2 TD's that nate missed, one badly behind him, one off, he missed a TE wide open for a TD. Nate is one of those guys who is constantly behind the WR on the crossing patterns. He's a pretty good player but that's it, can't tell you how many times I've seen Jackson wide open in his Cal career and whoever was the QB can't get him the ball. if he'd played with Rodgers his WR stats would look a lot better.

Hawkins had the better game last night but he also sees more one on one. And don't forget on the long play where Jackson drew the PI call, he got hurt, the guy reached in and grabbed his jersey and his thumb got caught and spun around. That's the one knock on him he's a bit small and big hits can bug him, see the USC game last year for example.
