Tennessee baseball and Auburn are in a weather delay Saturday before the start of a doubleheader.
The teams were slated to resume Friday‘s opener at 11 a.m. ET after it was suspended after a half-inning amid multiple lengthy weather delays.
Tennessee (36-9, 13-8 SEC) has won straight series against the Tigers (31-14, 11-10), winning two of three at Auburn in 2024 and winning a pair in a 2022 series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
The Vols have a 4-6 record against the Tigers under coach Tony Vitello. They were swept in 2019 at Auburn and lost an SEC Tournament game to the Tigers in the same season to start 0-4 before winning four of the past six.
Tennessee has lost back-to-back home series, the first time it has lost two home series in the same season since 2021.
It was swept in a doubleheader against Texas A&M on April 5 at Lindsey Nelson Stadium to drop a series to the Aggies. It lost Game 1 9-3 and Game 2 17-6, allowing the most runs in a game since Vitello’s first season in 2018.
LINEUP: Will a Tony Vitello lineup switch jumpstart Tennessee baseball like it did in 2023?
The Vols lost 8-2 to Kentucky in the series finale against losing in Game 2 in its lowest-scoring game this season.
