No. 15 Tennessee (1-0) defeated Nicholls (0-1), 10-0, in an eight-inning run-rule contest on opening day at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Friday marked Tennessee's first game under head coach Josh Elander.

Tegan Kuhns (1-0) started for the Vols and pitched 6.2 innings, earning his first win in 2026. He recorded eight strikeouts and 86 pitches, including 54 strikes, against 23 batters.

Kuhns allowed two hits, one walk, one wild pitch and zero hits.

Nic Abraham pitched 1.1 innings in relief. He totaled 15 pitches (12 strikes) and one strikeout against four batters. Abraham did not allow a hit, run or walk.

Tyler Myatt and Stone Lawless hit one home run each in the eighth inning to give the Vols a run-rule victory. Tennessee's offense totaled 11 hits, including a two-run home run by Henry Ford in the fourth inning.

The Vols totaled three two-out RBIs and left 10 runners on base.
