Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is once again a name to watch on the injury reports, this time leading up to his team’s Week 15 game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Higgins caught two touchdowns during the loss to the Buffalo Bills, then entered concussion protocol for the second time in less than a month.

Given the severity of those setbacks, Higgins’ status beyond Week 15 might be something to watch.

Here’s the latest.

Tee Higgins injury updates

  • After the game against the Bills, Higgins self-reported concussion symptoms and entered protocol.
  • Higgins left the game against the Bills multiple times after hitting his head on the turf.
  • Higgins missed Week 13 after battling through concussion protocol, then cleared it for the Week 14 game.

Tee Higgins injury outlook

Concussions are tricky injuries and two trips to protocol so close together make it almost impossible to project Higgins’ outlook. For now, comments from the likes of Bengals head coach Zac Taylor can serve as a guide.

"The way he talks to me about it was, 'I got hit, and so I'm shaken up on the play just from a football hit. And by the time the docs got out there, I felt fine. I got up and it was good, cleared everything,'" Taylor said, according to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com.

Taylor continued, via Hobson: "And then post-game, you get on the plane and come in this morning, and he's doing the right thing and saying, 'Okay, now I don't feel great.' And so we'll put him back in the protocol."

Bengals WR depth chart

  • Ja’Marr Chase
  • Tee Higgins
  • Andre Iosvias
  • Charlie Jones
  • Mitchell Tinsley

The Bengals cut Jermaine Burton this week, leaving them with five on the 53-man roster. They have Jordan Moore and Kendric Pryor on the practice squad, with the latter the likeliest call-up for a game, if needed. It’s a toss-up between Iosivas and Tinsley as the guy getting more looks if Higgins misses a game.
