Taylor Swift was among those who celebrated the New York Knicks’ epic 107-106 Game 4 victory against the San Antonio Spurs, in which the Knicks set a new record for the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history (29 points).
Swift was one of the many celebrities who watched the game live at Madison Square Garden, and her attendance naturally drew mixed reactions from the fans and media. However, when she attended the Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Thursday, the 14-time Grammy Award winner drew praise for being the Knicks’ lucky charm.
“Thank you for our Knicks’ good luck; I think you won the game for them,” President of Universal Music Publishing, Evan Lamberg, told Swift while walking the red carpet.
“Oh my gosh, you know what I did what I can, just gotta keep the energy up. Never a doubt!,” Swift replied.

Game 4 was not the first NBA playoff game Taylor Swift has attended this year. Alongside fiancé Travis Kelce, she sat courtside for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the New York Knicks. New York won 121-108 to take a 3-0 series lead.
Jalen Brunson went off for 30 points, three rebounds, and six assists on 10-for-19 shooting from the field and 10-for-12 shooting from the free-throw line in 41 minutes. Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Landry Shamet, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Josh Hart added 22, 21, 14, 13, and 12 points.
A few days later, the Knicks won 130-93 in Game 4 to eliminate the Cavaliers. Today, they are one win away from winning their first NBA championship since 1973. Perhaps they need Swift in attendance again, but it’ll likely happen in Game 6 since Game 5 is in San Antonio.
