Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba left the Super Bowl Sunday against the New England Patriots with an apparent head injury.
He was examined in a sideline medical tent by an independent concussion specialist, then left for the locker room on his own. The Seahawks announced that he was being evaluated for a concussion.

Per the NBC broadcast, Smith-Njigba's head hit the ground at the end of a play, prompting his trip to the medical tent. He spent 2 1/2 minutes in the tent before leaving for the locker room. It was not immediately clear if Smith-Njigba would be able to return to the game.
The Seahawks led 12-0 at the time of Smith-Njigba's exit in the third quarter.
An All-Pro and the league's leading receiver during the regular season (1,793 yards), Smith-Njigba was limited to 3 catches for 24 yards prior to his exit. But the Seahawks were in control of the game thanks to an overwhelming performance by their defense that kept the Patriots off the scoreboard through three quarters.
