gillespie said book was in the huddle reminding the guys not to let the game slip like the last one - I remember when our last coach said book should stop talking in the huddle- screw that guy

suns startes built the lead in the 3rd - bench never let them back on the court - that's what's up - that's what tweaking rotations and staying focused does

fleming almost there - still not moving organically on defense - didn't see him again til garbage time but that early 5+ minutes showed a lil something

We won by D, mainly, and sharing the ball well on O. I particularly like the stretch in the 2nd qrt when our guys tried quick double teaming just across the halfcourt with Oso in there. That led to disruption to their O, and to steals. Oso's value is highest in those chaotic situations which hide his weakness at on-man D. Fleming is very athletic, just too tight and nervous, rushing shots on O and getting lost on D.

we gave up a huge lead in the last game

tonight our bench wasn't having any of that

i think that was the test and why ott stayed with that same bench lineup through 2 timeotts

The Suns had 19 steals.

The Suns' 19 steals are the most by any team in the NBA this season, per
@Stathead.
Blazers have only 19 TOs, all from steals. Refs were at it again calling moving screens on us, 3-4 times, but not Blazers. We attacked their ball handlers early often with double team, which was quite effective. It reminds me of 2 seasons ago when Goodwin, Okogie and Saben Lee on court together always caused havoc on D.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious the main difference between this year's team and last year's is that a lot more of the rotation guys are defensively skilled. Last year it pretty much ended at Dunn and O'Neale.

My face, perpetually painted, with team Oso.

It isn't pretty, he doesn't paint himself in glory, but when he is on the court, good things tend to happen.

Although, I will say, if he can't solve his free throw shooting, he will remain unplayable in the clutch.

Also, first half Flemming, provided some good minutes, good D, good hustle, got to the line.

Garbage time Flemming was trying to do waaaaaaay too much.

I think he's a good player, if we gave him like 10-15 minutes a night, I think he could find a groove. But the way the team is playing, it's hard to find those minutes right now. Even Livers, who I didn't even know was on the roster a few weeks back, is providing value.

Good win. I don't care that Portland was missing Jrue, the Suns were missing Grayson and still found their groove. Glad to beat a more respectable team after the collapse vs Atlanta.

I don't know about Maluach, but size helps and Gambo agrees.

Anyone else think a few minutes from Maluach might help them from stopping some of these drives to the basket by Sharpe and Advija?
I don’t think he helps much unless both our bigs are in foul trouble but even then it’s very little because he is so lost out there. I would rather see him developing in the G-League. Besides those are Oso’s minutes and as of late he is contributing. If Oso was still doing nothing? Maybe.
