ish should've played nice with kd - he should've ignored golden state's offer and signed kd to a 2 year extension before the season ended

then he should've shipped kd wherever the hell he wanted

Ignoring GS's offer would be a mistake we'd rail on him for. It was a sweetheart deal that virtually everyone here wanted at the time, even the biggest KD fans. It really seems like Golden State trolled KD and in turn damaged the Suns beyond repair.

If the Suns had signed Durant to a 2-year extension, I would worry he would get injured and be untradable.

Agree with @Hoop Head, that Warriors offer was sweet and the Timberwolves offer this summer as well.

A report the Suns were interested in Darius Garland in a Kevin Durant trade, but Cleveland wanted Phoenix to attach assets.

That's walking a tight rope. LOL. They pointed out it was the Suns who contacted them but then it goes on to say they asked the Suns to attach assets. If true, that is not exactly a ringing endorsement they want to hang onto Garland.

Asking the Suns to attach assets in addition to Durant in the trade, I think, shows how much they value Garland, which would be a lot.

The Suns own the Cavaliers first round pick in 2029 so the chance to get it back might have been attractive.

It shows what they think his worth is for sure. It also demonstrates they are willing to move him IMO. The Suns would never respond for a Booker request indicating they would consider it for additional assets.

so... basically Durant screwed us out of the best two trade options. As if i couldn't loathe him any more than I already do...
It's the Stars in the league in general for me. They all pull the same crap around their contracts, provide their lists and hog tie franchises. It's one thing I loathe about sports. Let's face it, if Book decided he wanted to go? He would mostly dictate his trade destinations too.

It's different with Devin Booker. He has been a lifer and loyal to the Suns.

If he wanted to be traded, I'd try to accommodate him.

It's like that for most stars in this league.

The point I'm making is Booker has been loyal to the Suns, the team that drafted him, for ten years through good and bad.

That can't be said for a lot of other stars.

Agreed but it doesn't change his is player driven league whose stars generally speaking dictate or semi-dictate where they go. I wasn't really speaking to the loyalty of a player and if a team should accommodate them as a result.

no way. He’s been accommodated with more millions than 99.9% of the world ever makes in their lives. He’s never brought us a title. He’s barely brought us any playoffs success with a meager 4 total playoff appearances, an even more meager 4 playoff series wins in 11 years and 3 of those series wins came in ONE post-season.

Sentimentality should play no role in sports if you’re number one object is to win, IMO.
