Suns @ Thunder Sunday game thread 4-2-2023

In a one game road trip, the Suns play at OKC on Sunday.

The Thunder are 38-40 as they lose to the Pacers.

OKC beat Phoenix on March 19th in their last meeting so no easy game is expected.

Suns are 42-35 with the win over the Nuggets.

When: Sunday, April 2nd

Time: 4 pm Arizona Time

The Suns have five remaining games. It looks like this.

They are in 4th place in the West with two fewer losses than the trailing Clippers and Warriors.

April 4 vs San Antonio
April 6 vs Denver
April 7 @ Lakers
April 9 vs Clippers

I’d rather avoid the Clippers. I think Kawhi-PG have a higher two way ceiling that KD-Book and their role players have the slight edge on ours.

Yeah I forgot about that. Without PG I’d prefer them over Golden St. I think healthy Kawhi is the best player in the series but not sure he can handle a game every other day.

Part of me feels like we should give it away but it might be a morale killer if we did. I think players would be piss if they were told to lose.

They have 1 more loss than the 10th place Thunder.

No I think that gets the Mavericks in because that means they'd go 3-1 and finish 40-42 whereas going 1-3 for OKC would mean they'd finish 39-43. And if OKC goes 2-2 the Mavs would need to win all 4.

So unless we have the most epic late season collapse ever, it’s us as the 4 v. 5 seed Warriors. Man… that’s tough but at least we’ll have HCA.
