fleming likely starts next year - he's fast he plays defense he's the only real power forward we have - oneale has been durable and admirable but size is size - if the big flemingo continues to let the 3 ball flow it's only a matter of time

rasheer fleming has officially graduated from jordan ott's defensive school of hard knocks - not only the system but multiple positions

we've always known ott has a soft spot for small ball but now he has the 3andD power forward to pull it off - and yet another plethora of lineups unlocked

the big flemingo had 2 blocks to go with his 2 fouls and while the stat sheet only says 5 boards... a few of those were offensive rebounds and fleming was taptastic with the boards being credited to his teammates

is anyone worried about him only scoring 2 points? or are we all in tune singing his praise? because he's not forcing rushed 3s anymore- if they're coming at him he's taking it in - you can see why ott loves this kid

side bar - the way this team respects ott's call is everything - nobody gets their feelings hurt on in game substitutions - everyone understands and has faith in the man but that's not to say he doesn't listen like our last couple coaches

we've seen book wanting to stay in while on a heater and ott obliging - we've seen the villain let him know when a defensive adjustment wasn't working - ott reversed it back and gave credit to dillon after the game

this is a rookie head coach mind you

you can see fleming's evolution and why he's years ahead of maluach far as maturity goes - not just in age

the college years were clearly well spent working on his nba game - his 3s came out of no where - this implies that rasheer is a hard worker learning on a team full of hard workers that really really needs a power forward for the playoffs

I would not call Fleming a 3-D PF, he is a 3-D combo F but a huge one. Long, big, very athletic, an excellent defender. Fleming can defend anyone on the perimeter. He is basically a bigger version of Ryan Dunn with a better jumpshot.

Great find at #31. It was always sad to see Camara becoming such a good 3-D F after letting him go. Now the Suns seem to have someone more special in that role.

I have been thinking Kawhi as well. That size, good shooting form, seems to have a work ethic and mental strength. Very promising prospect.

We did this with Ryan Dunn last year.

If his ceiling is a low-end Siakam and his floor is Jonathon Isaac we should be ecstatic.
Ryan does not have the size as Fleming but he has good size and athletic ability to be an excellent classic small forward. Starting on the defensive end, he has added a pretty good 3pt shot. He needs better handles and some tear drop or something going into the lane.

I like our youth. Need to keep this group together next season. It has great defense with Fleming, Dunn, DTV, Goody, Oso, plus growth of Maluach. Scoring is pretty good from Booker, DTV, Green, and size has improved as well when Dillon, Fleming and Mark Williams or Oso is in there, thinking about not being killed on the boards. So yeah, the future has changed massively from what the outlook was last year.

And Dunn is a fringe rotation player now. Some have learned nothing. I'll continue to hope Fleming can be Jaden McDaniels here. Solid 12 & 5 with lockdown defense. Anymore is gravy.

I think Isaac plays more like a 5 now but injuries have set him back a lot. Tough to really compare anyone to him due to how often he's out and what changes he exhibits when he returns.
