I loved Marion but he was not a superstar. Koa has the inside game already and it will only get better. I believe in the kid . He will become a good three point shooter I have no doubt.
Dang that’s some good coolaid your having I’ll take some of that.

Not saying he's going to be as good as Barkley. Peat's back down turn around J resembles Barkley's. Just saying the way Peat does it, it looks like how Barkley used to do it.
Correct. It’s ok to say the way a player does something reminds you of another player, without saying he is as good at it as another player.

I was trying to think of a horrible comp that might be fun and settled on Manu. If Koa can learn to flop, master flailing, perfect the Euro step and still raise his 3 point percentage, he could well be the next Manu Ginobili. But I'm happy with the Koa Peat we have, I think he's going to be at least solid and maybe much more than that.

Maybe Peat shows enough promise that they let Bridges walk after this year. Best case scenario for him is that duplicates what Bridges can do but without the off court baggage.

On the other hand, if the Suns are committed to Bridges longer term (as has been rumored), that's it for Peat. He would be road blocked here, and there's no reason the Suns would carry him as a long term project, nor would it serve Peat himself in any way to wait around for four more years to get his chance.

As demonstrated with Mark Williams, the Suns are reluctant to let assets walk for nothing.

They invested heavily in trading for Miles Bridges. I think the Suns see Peat as a power forward that could develop. The same with Fleming. If that happens, then a trade could develop for someone.

For the lack of a better comparison, maybe Aaron Gordon and perhaps elements of the game of Paolo Banchero, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Rui Hachimura?

Marion played three years in college. First year with the Suns 25 min 10 pts a game. I will go out on a limb here and say In year 4 Koa will be a starter and scoring 20 a game. The next 8 years Marion only averaged over 20 two times. Now he got rebounds and steals and was awesome. Koa might not get 11 boards a game playing next to Man Man but I see no reason why Koa can't surpass Marions stats

I understand the stat thing but Marion was a freak athlete. That type of athleticism doesn't come along too often.

Maybe but I really think we'll find his best comp in the pre 2000 NBA when his style and physicality were more the norm.

Koa Peat’s Summer League so far (4 Games):

19 PTS | 3 REB | 2 STL | 46% FG
19 PTS | 6 REB | 2 STL | 53% FG
17 PTS | 6 REB | 4 AST | 55% FG
12 PTS | 4 REB | 2 STL | 50% FG

Player comparisons are a dangerous game. It's like comparing bits and pieces of players and trying to find the one that best matches. I can even see some versatility similar to Grant Hill.

Very nice work by Peat there. I was hoping Fleming would add something similar.

Suns really want Fleming to hit that corner three. I'd prefer they work on his inside-out game first, but they presumably must know what they are doing.

I can understand it. He is more useful if he can play great defense and space the floor with 3pt shots (that's 50% more than hitting midrange shot). If he has that, he should get regular minutes. Then he can spend extra hours working on a goto move inside. Better to see consistent minutes and contribute than be inefficient and get little playing time.

You think Koa is going to eventually average 20 ppg and be a good enough all around player to make at least 4 All-Star games and 2 ALL-NBA teams? I just don’t see what you can possibly base that on.
