I heard a good comp using our own players for Koa Peat. Ceiling is higher than Fleming. Floor is lower than Dunn.

I think the opposite, his ceiling is higher than Dunn's and floor is lower than Fleming.

Fleming has an incredibly high ceiling that I can't imagine Koa reaching. Fleming could be a Jayden McDaniels or OG Anunoby type of player, which is a top tier defender who is also capable of giving you 15-20 ppg on good efficiency. Could Peat be that? I don't think so as he lacks the handles and shooting touch to be a #3 starter on a team.

Oh I totally agree with your post. Fleming has rare size, athletic ability, etc. I think he potentially has the highest ceiling of all the young guys on our team. Totally agree. What I liked about that comparison I quoted earlier, is it shows no one knows what Peat is going to be. He could be a lesser talent than Dunn, just a defensive guy with no shot, to a high motor athletic guy who is a star in the NBA. Peat is 19, so there's that ability to improve because he's not a fully skilled (you hope) guy who should improve. Peat could be a young Aaron Gordon, who was mostly a hustle guy, and developed his shot over time in the NBA. Gordon got playing time right away. I am not sure Ott is going to afford him that.

This guy played in an offense that does the EXACT SAME dribble hand off, screen and roil, we see the Suns do every single game. Except, he had, if they didn't mess with his shot too much, the ability to score in the paint with jumpers, that we want from Oso. Wide body that gets up to dunk. Lotta lift for those pounds.

IDK if the hair or the body, or both, but he looks like and moves like Wes Unseld. Except Wes never had those hops!

Tommy Lloyd with some thoughts on Koa Peat being drafted by the Suns."Koa's somebody that we really value & were thankful for the Suns choosing him in the first round."

"His values a lot higher than the number he was actually picked at."

"For koa to end up in a situation and a team that wanted him... It's more important about the situation than the pick."

"They want to do it with tough, hardworking, blue collar guys — and he fits the bill."

Sounds like a great pick up, but if he can't shoot, he won't see much time. We already have Oso who can't shoot.
