I would still like to see another Raheer Flemming type guy. If you have three taller guys you can put on the court at the same time, you could arguably switch them without much drop off against the bigger front lines we have to play in the Western Conference.

I keep seeing the Suns wanting to bring in 6'3" or smaller PGs predraft, though.

I think that's mostly meaningless. Obviously they aren't inviting any of the top prospects so we're looking at the bargain bin again and hoping we get lucky and find the next Brunson. I'm confident that if we had cap space and picks we'd be searching through a much more impressive collection of bigger players too.

The best way to do it involves a time machine. Otherwise I have no clue how to make it happen given we are on such uneven footing with the rest of the league when it comes to assets. I don't say that to piss all over the KD trade as it's long since been beaten to death but it really is and will be the gift that keeps giving for several more years.

IOW we either have to adjust to disappointment or accept that for the next several years we're going to be addressing our wounds with sandpaper and acid, all the good stuff is out of our price range. Every now and then a product gets mislabeled (a talent gets overlooked) so there's always a chance but the odds are heavily stacked against us.

As you said, absence a time machine it will be difficult.

If the Suns want to further mortgage their future, they have two first rounds picks that can be used in trade on draft day.

Some role playing big men would help. Also have to hope Maluach and Fleming can become rotation players.

But there does also seem to be the possibility of a "we don't care about fixing our size issue" approach in what they've been doing this off season, at least so far. I know it's early and there's lots of things that can still happen. But how they approached that issue last season, in the playoffs, and in their (thus far) stated intentions for next season is concerning.

I really hope they don't actually believe they can continue to be successful bucking the size trend in the league simply because they had some initial luck with it in the first half of last season. Ott certainly demonstrated that he had a reluctance to changing up his approach even after it started to falter.

It’s this. I don’t know why people think this isn’t their view. They resign Williams and they’ve got mark williams, Maluach, Oso, and Fleming. If the young guys develop they can play with normal size most of the game and go small strategically.

This may be their future, but I'm not wanting to count on these players to come out of the chute ready.

I still want another dependable, if unspectacular, 4/5 to hold down the fort in the meantime.

My guess, putting Caruso on Wemby is to bother him, get underneath him and not let him put the ball down.

Some big men like to dribble first. Maybe Wemby is adjusting?

That's similar to what we did early in the season when we handed San Antonio their first loss. We had Royce on him and just pestered him while he was on the perimeter. It was Wemby's first game not going for 20+ also.

True, but I keep thinking of game 1 where Wemby just did whatever he wanted against Caruso.
