Yes, Dilllon is our 4.

Just a gut feeling really, I think Ott wants to maximize shooting and creation in the starting lineup.
Yeah. It would be nice if we had an actual power forward but unless he's a plus player, I'm not convinced it would be to our advantage. Sure, we currently give up some size at that spot but we gain matchup advantages with Dillon and Royce covering that position that offset much of what they give up. If we can add a PF without reducing our guard/perimeter threats then fine but I no longer view it as a necessity.

But yeah such a good turnaround considering some of the players were here already; Allen, Oneale, Gillespie, Book, Oso, and Dunn.

This just shows you how poor of a coach Bud was.

This is pure speculation, but I am confident even last season's team would be significantly better if Ott was the one on their sidelines.

Royce has been our PF more than Brooks. Hes shooting considerably better than Grayson and has stayed healthy. Royce is hitting 3's at 42.4% compared to Grayson at 37.9%. Royce has played in 39 games, starting 35, to Allen's 22, 18 starts. Royce is also #2 in boards per game behind Williams at 5.1 a game but Brooks is at 3.3 and #9, behind Goodwin and Collin.

I can see the creation side in favor of Grayson but bringing him off the bench should keep him healthier, allow him to exploit more mismatches and bench players, and give him more looks.

I think Royce is a less troublesome Jae Crowder for us. He's not a traditional PF but next to a legit C like Williams and with quality rebounding guards in Book and Collin plus Brooks disrupting things, he makes it work.

I still want Portis but the players I'd part with have changed. I'd definitely send Richards out, obviously, and probably Brea also. If Milwaukee were willing to include a pick with Portis then Grayson might be an option but that has more to do with Allen's durability than his play. I think he's been valuable enough that a straight swap favors Milwaukee too much though. A handful of 2nd rounders or some 1st round swaps may be enough to even things out as well.

Collin, Book, Brooks, Portis, and Williams is a good sized lineup that is all hustle.

Portis would make us a little better but I'm not at all unhappy with the pieces we have and I'm not sure we're anywhere near our ceiling. There's a player or two that mean nothing to me but there isn't anyone in this rotation that I'd really like to get rid of. If I were running things there I'd probably just ask Ott what he wants and who he's willing to part with to make it happen. I suspect he might want to run with these guys at least till the offseason.

If we hope to compete with OKC in a 7 game series then we'll need more size. They've had some injuries when we've played them and haven't had to deal with their twin towers in Hartenstein and Chet much. Plus they have Jaylen Williams off the bench as another big. Portis would fill that need. He's one of the few bigs that should fit here very well.

I would definitely be ok letting Ott decide but we'll have to add someone once we dump Richards. There's a small chance we could grab Portis as a buy out candidate.

Has Portis been mentioned as a possible buy-out candidate?? I haven't heard that at all.

It's not really a big deal to me either way. Neither situation is ideal as both guys are truly only 6'4 and playing against bigger dudes.

Some. Not by Milwaukee but by a team acquiring him, like if Charlotte traded for him. It would need to involve a bad or long term contract going to Milwaukee, Portis to a non playoff team and then being bought out. Slim chance but probably as likely as us giving up value for him.

It's like back in the day. Shawn Marion was our PF and Amare Stoudemire was our C.

The moment Richards is traded is the moment Williams goes down with an injury. Do we really want to tempt fate?

Richards has to go due to cap reasons. We're a few million over the tax line, the spotrac numbers were off. Every trade article I've seen for the Suns has mentioned it. It's a matter of when not if. I'm blaming you for putting that theory in the universe BTW.

That would be tough but fair for both sides.

Brooks 6'7"
O'Neale 6'6"
William 7'1"
Dunn 6'7"
Ighodaro 6'11"
Fleming 6'9"
Is Brooks really 6'7" or is he 6'5" as he looks the same height as Booker or less and I think he was always listed as 6'5" & the 240 weight allows him play forward slot as he plays good D but a little light on the rebounding at 3 or 4 boards per game. Love his determine and grid play. He gives the Suns a lot positive attitude & edge.

Brooks is listed as 6'7" on both basketball-reference and nba.com.
