Summit League announces 2026-27 men's, women's basketball schedules

South Dakota State and South Dakota have their 2026-27 Summit League schedules, with the Interstate Series being played on Saturday, Jan. 16, and Saturday, Feb. 13.

Denver has departed the Summit League, leaving it with eight full-time members — South Dakota State, South Dakota, North Dakota State, North Dakota, Omaha, Kansas City, Oral Roberts and St. Thomas.

Each team plays a home-and-home against all seven other league members.

The Summit League tournament is scheduled from March 4 to 7 at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls.

South Dakota State men​

South Dakota State's men's team is coming off a 14-18 season that included a 7-9 mark in Summit League play. It was the Jackrabbits' first losing season since 2009-10.

The South Dakota State women's team won a fourth consecutive Summit League tournament in 2025-26, ending with a loss to Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Jackrabbits went 27-7 overall and 14-2 in league play.

South Dakota's men's team endured a chaotic season in 2025-26, but still managed to earn the No. 4 seed in the Summit League tournament. The Coyotes were 16-16 overall and 8-8 in conference a season ago, their second season in a row at .500 or better.

South Dakota has one non-conference game booked on Sunday, Nov. 22, against Utah Tech at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.
