I didn't hear anything, but in the football subscription I get it lists all the bios of all the players for the draft, and it lists Suggs 40 yard dash time of 4.63. I don't know where that time came from. I wonder if that is what he was timed at once at ASU? Maybe he is faster than the poor workout he had last month. Below is the bio I got on Suggs.

Those who attended the March workout at Arizona State felt that Suggs may have cost himself the fourth pick in the draft by running in the 4.8 and 4.9-second range. The Cardinals, who have been looking for a pass-rusher, appeared to be the most interested team in taking him with the sixth pick, but his poor time may make that less certain.
The workout featured head coaches and front office personnel from the Cardinals, Chiefs and Texans along with other teams. Suggs ran three 20-yard shuttles in 2.84 seconds.
Those aren't considered great numbers. Suggs set a collegiate record with 24 sacks last season, but most top pass-rushing defensive ends run in the 4.6 to 4.7 range.

I didn't understand, why he wanted to run again anyway..... especially if he knew in his mind he couldn't get faster.
Before today there was some doubt because he was "believed" to have 4.6 speed.

All well and good but what does he run in pads with a helmet on with a OL in front of him?
Do people think he's gotten slower by gaining weight? Doesn't seem like he's gained that much.
I still think he's the most logical pick for us, he'll even be motivated both by staying home and proving wrong all the teams that dropped him because of his workouts.
Suggs/Robertson/Leftwich any of the 3 I'm happy to take at 6.

Can he play football???????? Absolutely. If we pick him he'll be going against some of the top tackles in the NFL daily in practice. This will only sharpen his skills, & hopefully accelerate his development into the Games most feared pass rusher!!!!

windy..but he ran against and with the wind - and it did not make much difference - 4.82 vs. 4.85. they said on kdus one of the guys (not sure who) running a stopwatch had suggs at 4.90.
I guess jerry jones came out today and said newman and suggs were at the top of their board..but I guess a week or two ago parcell said they had trufant over newman... The b.s. is flying.
If I had to guess...the texans are off the suggs bandwagon..Chicago and dallas are, in my guess, the only 2 teams ahead of us who still are interested..and both could look elsewhere on draft day. I need to turn the radio off for a week. Kdus says in one segment that dallas is interested in suggs..then in the next segment the same broadcaster wonders if suggs will be a top 10 pick...
FWIW - If trufant is the guy the cardinals want - they will not trade down and try to get him later...they will take him with #6 if that is their guy...

Exactly. I don't think some people understand what 2 tenths of a second is. It's litterally the blink of an eye. I made a 50 dollar bert with a guy I work with the Suggs will have 9.5 sacks or more his rookie season. Money in the bank IMO.

I love it! I was worried that he would post a better time and we would not have a shot at him. I think we have a good chance at getting him now at #6.
Do you think the poor times he ran could have anything to do with the 50 pound anvil that I tied to his belt shortly before he made his runs?

this absolutely raises huge concerns. he's just not fast. you can argue about his abilities in college 'til you're blue in the face, but you could've done the same for burke and corey moore also. some tangibles carry weight and, unfortunately for suggs, he does not (get it? i'm clever). so he's undersized and slow (and believe me, 4.9 is SLOW for a premier DE). those are legitimate concerns, particularly given the fact that he specifically trained to get faster this time around and wasn't faster! suggs is starting to scare the dickens outta me. i'm waaaaay in the leftwich corner and leaning towards the robertson corner secondarily.
homerism is great, and i loved watching suggs for the devils last year, but it may end up being a HUGE gamble to grab him at #6. previous undersized guys who were drafted early and succeeded were blazing (freeney, kearse, little), but suggs is both small and slow. would you be excited to draft any player at any position if i were to give you those two attributes?

I'm absolutely crushed too. How will we ever win the "NFL Superstars Track Competition"? I mean, we might wind up with the slowest DE in the Pro Bowl. How will I show my face in public?

I'm starting to have my doubts about Suggs, too--particularly if he becomes a Cardinal.
Maybe he is faster. So, what's slowing him down? Someone suggested that he'd been partying a lot lately (ran into an ex-teammate of Suggs on campus? Something like that). Why would that change after the guy becomes a multi-millionaire? Well, it might if the guy moves to an unfamiliar city, but it certainly won't when he's surrounded by all of his buddies that are either still in school or fresh out.
Hell, I was still partying my ass off for 2 years after I graduated--and I was working at UNO'S!!! It took me leaving the area to "straighten up and fly right."
If the rumors of Suggs' off-season recreation are true, the worst thing that can happen to this kid is to be drafted by the Cardinals. I hope they're not true, and he has his head on straight and he just bungled a couple of workouts. Time will tell, I suppose.
At this point I might be happier trading down if we can get 2 #1s. It'd be pretty sweet to be able to get a DE (maybe Haynes or McDougal?) a CB (maybe Woolfolk or Smoot?) and a WR (maybe B. Johnson or Boldin?) in the first 37 selections.
