STARKVILLE — Mississippi State baseball's NCAA Tournament regional at Dudy Noble Field could be impacted by weather.

According to AccuWeather, there is a 96% chance of rain and 58% chance of thunderstorms on May 29, the first day of the Starkville Regional.

The No. 14 national seed Bulldogs (40-17) are scheduled to play the first game of the regional against No. 4 Lipscomb (29-24) on May 29 (1 p.m., ESPN+). The second game of the day between No. 2 Cincinnati (37-20) and No. 3 Louisiana (39-23) is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The hourly forecast says there's a 40% chance of rain at 1 p.m. and a 34% chance of rain at 6 p.m. The high for May 29 is 83 degrees.


It could rain on the other days of the regional, too.

There is a 55% chance of rain on May 30, 88% chance on May 31 and 55% chance on June 1.

Dudy Noble Field has a dirt and grass playing surface except for foul territory and the warning track, which is turf.
