I have Howie Roseman to compare him to, so yes. Paint me a Keim supporter. I feel he at least doesn't have a "smartest guy in the room complex". That works for me. He has a very tough job and does it fairly well IMO. Accountable for his mistakes, and tries to correct them. That's what a fan base wants.
Actually, I feel he has exactly that at the worst times. How else do you explain an Andy Isabella?

Every draft pick is Keim's guy, because he's the guy in charge. If Keim really didn't want to make the pick, he would tell KK no. KK doesn't get to shop for the groceries.
Yeah particularly for a dude (kk) who at that point had zero leverage with the organization. Keim gets no pass for Isabella. And man did he whiff:

62. Cardinals - isabella
63. Chiefs - thornhill
64. Seahawks - DK Metcalf
65. Cardinals - Zach Allen
66. Steelers - Dionte Johnson
. . .
76. Washington - Terry McLaurin
. . .
149. Oakland - Hunter Renfrow
. . .
171. NY - Darius Slaton

Gah, Zach Allen was drafted 65 overall? He's contributed, but isn't a starter at his position (or shouldn't be).

Yeah that one surprised me too. I mean we took Isabella 2 picks before metcalf and Allen right before dionte Johnson. All with the stretch of 5 picks. Three wrs go in that stretch. We have two picks and a need for a wr. And we pick the only bust of the three.

Keim has spent more premium picks on Inside Linebackers than he has on the OL & DL. He absolutely should be replaced as well.
You could have just said "the entire NFL draft" but yes, this is a huge area of conern.

Damn just realized why the Cards have been horrible since BA left.

Just look at the best Dline and Oline players Keim has drafted respectively in the last 8 years.

Zach Allen - Unathletic slow white guy
DJ Humphries - Below average player being paid like top tackle

Is this real life?

Too many questionable draft picks over the years for me. Too many picks at LB when glaring needs at defensive and offensive lines go unmet. Way to thin at corner to stay competitive. Great teams over the years build through the draft, not through signing injury-prone free agent at the end of their careers.

In my book the jury is still out with him. For all the hoopla with the Watt signing he ended up playing in just 7 games this season. The Conner signing was probably his best move for 2021. Conner has been able to dodge the injury bug that plaque him in previous years. Green has been a so so signing at this point, neither bad nor great. What concerns me the most is the next two seasons when a bunch of the teams free agents hit the market in both 2022 and even more in 2023. How is he going to not only afford to pay all those slots but fill them? Is he going to continue with the one year injury prone rentals? A fair number of them are some of the younger players on the team.

You have Jones, Conner, Edmonds, Green, Ertz, Williams, Lee, Kirk, McCoy, Alford and Brewer all coming up in 2022 and in 2023 you have K. Murray, Watt, Humphries, Hudson, Pugh, J. Murray, Beacham, Murphy, Hicks, Prater, Phillips, Golden, Allen, D. Thompson and J. Thompson, and Vallejo all hitting the open market. Almost your entire starting Oline is unsigned unless you can find a way to extend some contracts before then and K. Murray is going to want a 5-6 year $240 to $260 million contract.

There will be a lot of holes to fill over the next two years and some positions which will be essentially empty in 2022 like RB and TE. Has Keim sold the future for immediate success?
It will certainly be interesting to see how all these contracts and positions will be handled in th next two years.
Doesn’t look good, does it?
