Steve Avila was one of four Los Angeles Rams players who got hurt on Sunday against the Houston Texans, three of whom returned to the game after getting evaluated. He suffered an ankle injury in the first half and though he was able to return, it was mostly out of necessity.

He only came back in after Kevin Dotson got hurt, moving Beaux Limmer over from left guard to right guard. And it was clear that after every play, Avila was laboring. After the game, Avila was asked by a fan if he’s OK, and the guard replied by confirming he’s good.

That’s certainly encouraging, though we could assume he was going to be all right after he went back into the game.

Sean McVay credited Avila’s toughness after the win, applauding his willingness to go back into the game despite not being 100% healthy.

“What a credit to Steve Avila, as well. He comes out of the game, he was really trying to push through. Felt like putting Beaux in there, just with the way that he was feeling was going to be better. And then he had to come back in after Kevin Dotson comes out.”

The Rams had to shuffle their line a bit with Avila and Dotson but hurting their ankles, but they got through it and the hope is that both players will be fine moving forward.
