One of Stephen Curry’s teammates has spoken out in favor of Enes Kanter Freedom.
Enes Kanter Freedom last played in the NBA during the 2021-22 season for the Boston Celtics. But the 34-year-old is eyeing a basketball comeback next year.
What’s surprising is the fact that Freedom is not coming back to the NBA; instead, he has declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft.

Andrew Bogut wishes Enes Kanter Freedom ‘good luck’ in WNBA transition
Freedom has made the decision amid the WNBA’s indecisiveness about whether to keep transgender athletes out of the league or not.
He now identifies as a woman and wants to show his talents in the W next year. After seeing his decision, Steph Curry’s former Golden State Warriors teammate and 2015 NBA champion, Andrew Bogut, shared a short message on X.
At this point, it’s unclear whether Bogut really wished Freedom good luck or sarcastically wrote the message on X.
Either way, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert needs to make a statement on Freedom’s announcement sooner rather than later.
After all, he’s following league protocol, and if he’s denied the opportunity, a discrimination lawsuit could be coming in the WNBA’s direction.
