Enes Kanter Freedom’s WNBA declaration draws a response from Piers Morgan.
The 2027 WNBA Draft is shaping to be one of the most important events in the history of the league, but for unexpected reasons.
Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom has taken advantage of the WNBA’s lack of stance on transgender athletes being allowed to compete in the W.
Freedom has declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft as he now identifies as a woman.

Piers Morgan reacts to Enes Kanter Freedom’s 2027 WNBA Draft announcement
Veteran sports journalist Piers Morgan often sticks to soccer, but he couldn’t help but react to Freedom’s news.
Morgan has challenged the WNBA to react to Freedom’s announcement. Otherwise, the former NBA player may start playing in the W next season.
“Brilliant… now let’s see how keen the WNBA stars are for men to play in their League,” Morgan wrote on X.
Morgan directly challenged the ideals of current WNBA stars who have shown no restraint against the participation of transgender and people identifying as women playing in the league.
Freedom isn’t alone in declaring for the 2027 WNBA Draft as former lottery pick Royce White has also done the same. As Morgan pointed out, it will be interesting to see if the WNBA’s governing body and players take a stand against this.
