Steelers vs Packers: What to watch for on offense this week

The Steelers kick off the preseason this week against the Green Bay Packers at Acrisure Stadium and here is what we want to see on offense. It's been a quiet, controlled training camp under new head coach Mike McCarthy and the fans are chomping at the bit to see what this team is capable of.

The young quarterback battle​

Aaron Rodgers is supposed to play but all eyes will be on the battle between Will Howard and Drew Allar to see if either guy can win the backup quarterback job over Mason Rudolph.

Offensive line rotation​

The Steelers are far from settled on the right side of the offensive line and we want to see how rookies Gennings Dunker and Max Iheanachor do backing up the starters.

Tight ends in the passing game​

Reports from practice are promising that the tight ends are playing a significant role in the passing game, even throwing to them in the middle of the field. We want to see if that translates to the field on Thursday night.

Germie Bernard vs Roman Wilson​

Another big position battle is between Roman Wilson and Germie Bernard for the team's slot receiver. Wilson has been better in practice so Bernard needs to make up ground in live game action.
