Things appear to be trending up for the Pittsburgh Steelers, particularly for two potential returning players at training camp.
On Monday, the Steelers received some good news in the form of injury updates for cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey and Joey Porter Jr., both of whom started training camp on the physically unable to perform list. The Athletic's Mike DeFabo shared footage of Porter and Ramsey getting work in during an individual period, which could hint that their returns are imminent.
Ramsey, who was traded to the Steelers on June 30, 2025, suffered a knee injury at minicamp and was expected to miss a few weeks while he recovered.
Porter, who is looking for a big contract extension, aggravated a back injury and was placed on the PUP list to start training camp.
While the Steelers could definitely use Ramsey and Porter back in the lineup sooner rather than later, cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. has stepped up in a huge way in their absence, opening the door for a bigger role in 2026.
