The Pittsburgh Steelers made some intriguing roster moves on Monday.

Pittsburgh announced the team signed rookie wide receiver Levi Wentz. Wentz went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft and signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks. However, before Seattle had mandatory minicamp, Wentz was waived after the Seahawks signed veteran offensive tackle Bobby Hart.

Wentz is a 6-foot-2 wide receiver who spent last season at Kansas and recorded 16 receptions for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He began his college career at Old Dominion, and after two years, he transferred to Albany before getting a chance at Kansas.

As a corresponding move, the Steelers announced they released linebacker Daylan Carnell and punter Aidan Laros.

Carnell spent five years at Missouri from 2021 until 2025, mostly playing defensive back but shifted to a linebacker last year and did not appear in an NFL game. In his final year at Missouri, he recorded 41 tackles, 6.5 tackles for a loss, and one interception, along with four pass defenses.

Laros, meanwhile, is released just a week after Pittsburgh claimed the South African native off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He went undrafted in the 2026 NFL Draft out of Kentucky. He averaged 44.5 yards per punt last year, while his career average was 45.8 yards.

With Laros released, Cameron Johnston is the only punter on the Steelers roster.
