The Pittsburgh Steelers underwent a massive identity change over the past month, with defensive-minded Mike Tomlin stepping down and Mike McCarthy emerging as the new head coach.
Heading into uncharted waters, there are several defensive players the Steelers could target in free agency — particularly cornerback Nahshon Wright of the Chicago Bears, who could help ease Pittsburgh’s transition into a new era.
With Asante Samuel Jr. and James Pierre set to become free agents in March, the Steelers would be in desperate need of a solidified CB2 opposite Joey Porter Jr. — which is where Wright comes into play.
Recording a league-high eight takeaways, 11 passes defended, and 80 combined tackles in what can only be described as a breakout 2025 season, Wright is riding a lot of momentum heading into Year 6 and could help take Pittsburgh’s secondary to the next level.
Considering Wright's Spotrac-projected average annual value of $16.6 million, we at Steelers Wire predict he'll sign a three-year deal worth $51 million.
