Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger may have reignited his rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens, as the future Hall of Fame quarterback isn't sold on their Super Bowl aspirations being realistic.
According to Big Ben, the Ravens, who underwent a massive regime change this offseason, are "falling apart," and their Super Bowl window has "closed."
"To me, losing [John] Harbaugh, [Derrick] Henry's a year older, his body's taken a beating," Roethlisberger said about the Ravens via his Footbahlin podcast. "You just feel like, 'What was going on with Lamar [Jackson] last year?' He just didn't seem like the Lamar that we've been used to seeing. Maybe he was injured. I think he took some shots last year that we didn't think about."
Following their Week 18 loss to the Steelers, the Ravens missed the playoffs and subsequently parted ways with long-time head coach John Harbaugh. Baltimore also lost key players in free agency, such as tight end Isaiah Likely, three-time Pro Bowl center Tyler Linderbaum, and All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard.
Despite Roethlisberger saying the quiet part out loud about the Ravens' Super Bowl window, there are some within the media who still herald Baltimore as a favorite to win the AFC while overlooking the Steelers, a team more deserving of contender status.
