New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Scott Tolzien, who interviewed for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offensive coordinator position, revealed his honest feelings on being considered for the role.
Reporters caught up with Tolzien at the 2026 Senior Bowl, where he was asked to share what the experience of interviewing for the offensive coordinator role in Pittsburgh meant to him.
“Anytime you get an opportunity to go interview for one of these, it’s a really great growth opportunity,” Tolzien said via Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh. “I’m lucky that I’m in the position that I enjoy where I’m at. Things are going really good, and yet you always see what’s out there.”
Tolzien, praised for his sharp offensive mind and work ethic, played a big role in the development of the Saints’ 2025 first-round quarterback Tyler Shough, who began to show real promise toward the end of the season.
