Awesome write up Chopper. I echo a couple of the other posters in that I think Xavier is going to get swapped for BJ, BJ cannot stay healthy to show what he can actually do on the field sadly.

If only he were merely anonymous...he was putrid. PFF (insert laugh here) had him at 217 of 219 DLs for run defense, 196th of 219 DLs for pass rush. Whether you believe PFF means anything at all or if you watched him, it was pretty ugly.
I actually tried to pay some attention to him in the Washington game. He got handled. The whole defense was awful that game, but I would argue that he was the worst player on the field that day.

I think Vokolek is screwed... Sekovits being an international player, does not count against the final 53...so if its even close Vokolek is gone.

But sekovits doesnt count towards the PS total either... so if they want to create a roster spot... move Vokolek,..put Sekovits on the PS,..and ride into the season with just Trey, Tip, and Higgy Bear...and use the last TE roster spot for someone else.

I think you can get Joey Blount to the practice squad and keep arguably your best IDL from 2024 in Dante Stills.

Both Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols are locked into a roster spot. Oof.

I was going to say if we cut Dante Stills then we're going to have a hell of a defense this year because he was actually surprisingly good at times last year. I know it was compared to the weak play around him but if we're good enough he's not a lock for the roster that says something about how much we improved the D

the defense ought to be at least middle third of the NFL, which should win them another game or two

it has the potential to be really good if: Robinson and Melton improve and Nolen and Will Johnson positively contribute

If Stills is cut at the expense of Nichols and/or Jones something is rotten in Tempe.

Good stuff, IMO they need to have 3 qbs but can move one up and down from the PS on game days if they feel they need to.

Nichols should get cut. I don't see how he even sees the field unless something goes very wrong.

Cutting someone like Dante Stills for him would be a big mistake.

Xavier Thomas sucks. Give me Ojilari a hundred times over him, at least he looked like a real NFL player when he was playing.

Yeah it would be dumb, because he outplayed Stille, Nichols, Jones, Collier, and Robinson.

The tough part is that Nichols is the only other NT we really have behind Tomlinson. Makes him a little tougher to cut. In a traditional depth chart, the front probably looks like this.

DE - Campbell...Robinson

NT - Tomlinson...Nichols

DE - Nolen...Jones...Stills

I want Blount active, he's a difference maker on special teams unless this new kid Burch is really the truth.
