Redheat, thanks. I'm not great in flight sims (though I suppose I could get adequate with enough practice) and I don't have a flight stick. I LOVE SW, but don't know if I'll get this.

The problem is, the longer I wait, the better the opposition gets and then I won't be able to catch up.

Yes. Well worth the $40 if you’re a Star Wars/flight sim fan.
The game is not easy and I recommend a flight stick.

I've always considered looking into a stick for flight sim. Any specific ones you recommend or recommend against?

I thought I was good.. Sticking to the main story for now until I get the advanced controls down better. I’m only 2 hours in and this is definitely the xwing/tie fighter sequel I’ve been waiting for.
The feel of flying and shooting is perfect. It’s an easy entry point game with very advanced mechanics that will separate the good and very good players.

I’m on Xbox and using a controller. Think I’d be better with a flight stick but limited options with Xbox and expensive $100-150.

PC ones are $40 and up depending on if you want a separate throttle. The game is really immersive and flight sticks really add to the game experience. Not sure which is best.

I guess the game is available in VR, which I wonder how awesome that would be.

Redheat, what's the competition like?
