Star Alabama guard Latrell Wrightsell Jr. has officially been named as the SEC's Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Missouri's Mark Mitchell.
Wrightsell has been nothing short of elite throughout the second half of SEC play. The star guard currently averages 13.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game, as Wrightsell was a crucial competent to the Tide’s success in each win over Tennessee and Mississippi State last week. Wrightsell was credited with 25 points and six made threes in the win over the Vols, as the talented senior was widely regarded as a top guard in all of college basketball last week.
Wrightsell and the Tide find themselves in prime position to enter the SEC Tournament as the No. 2 seed with a double-bye over the first two rounds of play. Wrightsell has played a massive role on the offensive end of the floor in recent weeks, as the sharpshooter has made a red hot 10 three-pointers over the past two matchups in the Tide’s backcourt.
The talented playmaker will more than likely continue to thrive against Georgia on Tuesday, as Wrightsell officially finds himself as the SEC Player of the Week for the first time this season.
