The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Texas Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by a final score of 90-65.
Alabama was unstoppable on the offensive end of the floor throughout the entire matchup on Sunday evening. Star senior Latrell Wrightsell Jr. was red hot from behind the arc, as the talented guard recorded 24 total points in the win over the Red Raiders.
Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s authoritative victory over Texas Tech in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Mallette had one of the best games of his career at Alabama against the Red Raiders. The guard scored 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including an impressive 5-of-7 from behind the arc.
Mallette made a massive impact despite playing 25 minutes off the bench, as the talented playmaker will look to stay red hot from deep against Michigan in the Sweet 16.
Wrightsell was nothing short of elite on both ends of the hardwood during the Tide’s victory over Texas Tech. The star senior recorded 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting, as Wrightsell has bounced back in authoritative fashion following his 0-point performance against Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament.
Wrightsell was excellent on the defensive end of the floor as well, as the talented guard was able to help hold Red Raiders’ star Christian Anderson to just seven points.
The Tide as a whole had one of their best shooting performances of the season against Texas Tech on Sunday. Alabama shot an extremely impressive 19-of-42 from behind the arc, as the Tide were red hot from all over the floor in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Alabama will undoubtedly need to stay hot from deep against Michigan during the Sweet 16, as the Tide were excellent in all aspects against the Red Raiders.
Alabama will face Michigan on Friday at 6:35 p.m. CT, as the Tide will look to keep things rolling against the Wolverines in the Sweet 16.
