That deep throw to JJ was perfect. Went right through his hands. He throws catchable balls. Our receivers had the drops last night.

He had terrible throws to wide open guys for chunks last night, numerous times, more often than the 5-6 drops. I bet Stanton left 150 yards of passing on the field easily!!! He's just not that good & people need to forget his 9-6 record as most of those wins have come against bad teams if I remember correctly. Along with pedestrian stats

No offense brother but you have a total roses view on just about anything with this team.... You almost never see a negative side and can pretty much talk up anyone wearing Cardinal Red.. Its great that your always positive and an eternal optimist....

However sometimes you just got to see things for what they are Stanton just isn't very good neither is this team as a whole.... And there is no amount of optimism and fuzzy feelings that is going to change that.....

Problem is this is me irl. My daughters tease me about it. Btw, your entire post is entirely accurate when it comes to this team.

I’ve never liked the excuse, he’s just a backup. I’d prefer a backup where they’re young enough and/or inexperienced to maybe grow into a real player. Stanton has no place to grow. He’s never taking the team anywhere. I’d be fine with playing him in a game Palmer started and the Cards just needed to hang in there to maybe win. This is different. This team is going nowhere. Forget the current record unless the Cards can talk the league into letting them play the Niners 6 more times. Staton cannot take them anywhere next year. I’d play Gabbert. He’s also likely to fail to make a difference, but maybe, just maybe there’s a chance he offers more.

Part of the problem is Stanton's release, especially when he hurries it. Too many passes come out wobbly, and when the ball arrives quickly and the WRs like Nelson and TEs like Gresham have to react to it quickly to catch it, it's much harder to catch a wobbly ball. Not impossible, but more difficult, if the fat part of the ball hits their hand first.

I will give credence to this because I have never seen Fitz drop so many jump balls or contested passes... heck everyone was having issues catching

This, and like clockwork, Stanton is injured fairly quickly. You couldn't play this better. Stanton finishes a Palmer game, Stanton gets to start two games - one we should win, one no one expects us to. Now Gabbert has some more reps as 2 and gets to start with little expectation outside of Stanton helping him on the sideline. He does well, you stick with the hot hand, but you can always bring back Stanton if it gets too bad.

Just watched the highlights on the Cards sight & I seen a lot of tight spirals. Also some lasers. The dude has a good arm.
