BATTLE CREEK - The all-time leading scorer in St. Philp history is getting set to take his talents to the next level.

Jackson Dzwik of St. Philip committed to play men's basketball at Roosevelt University, a Division II school in Chicago, during a signing ceremony at St. Philip High School on Wednesday, May 27.

Dzwik, who finished as the all-time career scorer at St. Philip, was recruited by the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference school late. But, once they started scouting Dzwik, he saw it as a good fit.

"After my season ended, I took a visit and I really like it," Dzwik said. "I was talking to some random schools during the season, but once I visited Roosevelt I realized I fit in their program and the fact that it's in Chicago was really great for me."

The senior was the primary scorer for a St. Philip team that won a district title and finished 16-9 overall. Dzwik averaged 23.3 points per game, 4.7 assists, 3.1 steals and shot 31% from the 3-point line.

Part of a set of triplets that started for the Tigers basketball team, Dzwik joins his brother and sister at playing at that next level. Carter Dzwik recently committed to play baseball at Aquinas College. His older sister Brooke Dzwik recently finished her career of playing volleyball at Michigan Tech.

"We've all been playing sports our whole lives and I think this kinda makes it all worth it," Jackson Dzwik said. "It's a dream come true to play college basketball. This is what I've been working for all these years."
