Jackson Dzwik became the all-time career scoring leader for boys basketball in the city of Battle Creek with 41 points in a St. Philip 62-34 win over Jackson Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Dzwik recently broke the St. Philip career scoring record when he passed 2020 graduate Conor Gausselin's previous mark of 1,397. From there, Dzwik was chasing Battle Creek Central great Kenyon Murray, who was an All-American for the Bearcats and graduated in 1992. Murray had the most points in a high school career for a Battle Creek school with 1,488.

Dzwik, a four-year starter for St. Philip, went into Tuesday's game with 1,485 to sit in second place all-time. With 41 points against Jackson Christian, Dzwik now has 1,526 for his career with one game left in the regular season.

"It's great accomplishment for Jackson. He's worked tremendously hard to have the career he's had. His name will be mentioned with all the Battle Creek basketball greats," St. Philip boys basketball coach Michael Kimber said.
