The St. Louis Cardinals non-tendered 4 players today including pitcher John King and catcher Yohel Pozo reducing their 40-player roster to 37.

We have opted not to tender 2026 contracts to RHP Jorge Alcala, LHP John King, C Yohel Pozo, and RHP Sem Robberse.

Our 40-player roster now stands at 37.

John King ended 2025 with a 2-1 record, a 4.66 ERA over just over 48 games appearing in 51 games with a 1.63 WHIP. Yohel Pozo had a .231 batting average for the Cardinals during the 2025 season with 5 home runs and a .637 OPS appearing in 67 games. Sem Robberse had a 1-1 record with a 7.36 ERA for Memphis. Jorge Alcala had an 0-2 record with a 6.22 ERA appearing in 56 games. All are now free agents. John Denton of MLB.com mentioned that Yohel Pozo could return to the Cardinals on a minor-league free agent contract.
