Many were expecting based on recent reports that Yohel Pozo would return to the St. Louis Cardinals organization for 2026, but not many would have guessed it would be for a major league contract which is what the club just announced.
MLB Trade Rumors is reporting that Yohel Pozo’s contract is a split-deal which will have different terms depending on whether he’s on the Triple-A or the Major League roster. Jeff Jones confirmed this on X.

No doubt that Yohel Pozo was one of the more inspiring stories for the St. Louis Cardinals this past season after he and his family were living out of his car when his child was hospitalized. He finished the season with 5 home runs and a .237 batting average with an OPS of .637.
