Game 2 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional between No. 7 Alabama and St. John's has been delayed in the eighth inning due to lightning, both programs announced on social media.
The Crimson Tide lead 7-2 late in the game, and is just six outs away from claiming its spot in the College World Series. However, Mother Nature decided they have to wait a bit longer before an outcome is decided.

There's no rain at Sewell-Thomas Stadium, but lightning was detected within the area, forcing the weather delay. Left-handed starter Zane Adams' night is over as a result, and he finishes the game having allowed two earned runs with eight strikeouts in 6 and 2/3 innings pitched.
Alabama defeated the Red Storm — who swept Florida State's regional as a No. 4 seed — 8-0 in Game 1 of the series on Saturday, June 6.

Alabama is certainly hoping it can finish out its super regional-clinching Game 2 win on June 7.
