The Boston Celtics seemingly opened up a can of worms when they decided to make Jaylen Brown available in trade talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Doing so was certainly not the wrong decision, as Antetokounmpo is simply a better player than Brown, and there's really no other way to put it.

That isn't to say that Brown isn't an elite player in his own right, but comparing him and Antetokounmpo is just a bit unfair. Antetokounmpo has been one of the greatest players the NBA has ever seen, which is why the organization was even considering the move in the first place.

However, there are definitely some teams that could benefit from Brown potentially getting frustrated after these rumors, and one of them is the San Antonio Spurs. Some have started to connect the dots on a potential trade, and according to Celtics decision-maker Brad Stevens, there have been conversations with Brown himself about it.

“We’ve met,” Stevens told reporters. “We had a couple meetings earlier, end of May. Also before he went back overseas a couple days ago or 10 days ago or so. Spent a lot of time just the two of us sitting down together.”

The only problem for the Spurs is that they might not want to take on Brown's contract, which is more than $300 million. Unfortunately, the last thing that San Antonio wants to do is close its window by adding a bad contract if Brown doesn't work out. I think it would be a decent decision to bring him in, but I can understand the questions about doing so.
