SPRINGFIELD — You don’t have to travel to Foxborough to watch World Cup matches.

The Landing, downtown Springfield’s outdoor event space located adjacent to the MassMutual Center, will host several free outdoor soccer watch parties starting June 13 with a double-header: Qatar vs. Switzerland at 3 p.m. and Brazil vs. Morocco at 6 p.m.

Another double-header watch party will be held on June 19 with USA vs. Australia at 3 p.m. and Scotland vs. Morocco at 6 p.m.

The July 11 World Cup quarterfinals watch party will begin at 6 p.m., and the July 19 championship final will begin at 3 p.m.

“The Landing was created to bring people together and create memorable community experiences in downtown Springfield,” said Sean Dolan, general manager of the MassMutual Center. “These soccer watch parties are a fun and welcoming way for fans of all ages to celebrate the excitement of international competition together right here in Western Mass.”

Each game will be broadcast on a large outdoor screen for all ages to enjoy. Themed food trucks, specialty drinks, live music and lawn games also will be available during each watch party.

While there are tables at The Landing, guests are also encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets.

“We are thrilled to welcome fans from across the region to The Landing for what promises to be an unforgettable experience,” said John Barros, interim executive director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, in a statement. The authority is co-partnering with the MassMutual Center for the summer watch parties.

“These watch parties will capture the excitement of international soccer on a grand stage while highlighting the vibrancy and hospitality of Springfield and the dedication of our incredible team at the MassMutual Center,” Barros said.
