Speed skater Francesca Lollobrigida claimed her second gold at the Milano/Cortina Winter Olympics with a win in the women's 5,000 metres on Thursday.
The Italian was again on the highest place on the podium with the fastest time of 6 minutes 46.17 seconds, claiming a maiden medal for her nation in the 5,000m event.
It was a tight contest and she beat silver medallist Merel Conijn of the Netherlands by mere one tenth of a second. Bronze winner Ragne Wiklund was further 0.07 seconds behind.
Lollobrigida adds the two golds to her 3,000 metres silver and mass start bronze at Beijing 2022.
She claimed Italy's first gold at the home Games in the 3,000m last Saturday, setting an Olympic record time of 3:54.28 minutes.
Norway's Sander Eitrem won men's 5,000m gold on Sunday.
