South Dakota State wrestling will head back to Sioux Falls in the 2026-27 season, with a dual meet set for Friday, Dec. 18, against North Carolina at the Sanford Pentagon.

The start time, ticket and broadcast information will be available at a later date.

South Dakota State went 12-5 in duals last year, including a 5-4 mark in Big 12 competition. The Jackrabbits beat Arizona State, 24-14, in the Pentagon a season ago and will be making their 13th trip to the venue with the dual against North Carolina.

"We’re really looking forward to having North Carolina come to the Sanford Pentagon this season. It’s a great venue for a dual, and our fans always make it a fun environment,” South Dakota State head coach Damion Hahn said in a release. “(North Carolina head coach) Rob Koll is one of the best in the business, and having worked with him at Cornell, I have a lot of respect for how he runs his program. You know his teams are going to come in ready to compete. It should be a really good test for us and a dual that our team is excited about."

South Dakota State is moving to the PAC-12 for this upcoming season.

North Carolina's wrestling team went 9-5 in duals a season ago. The Tar Heels' trip to Sioux Falls will be the program's first to South Dakota.

"We are appreciative of South Dakota State and the Sanford Pentagon for their collaborative efforts in putting together this dual,” Koll said. “Having previously worked with Coach Hahn during our time together at Cornell, I have tremendous respect for him and his program at SDSU. We look forward to bringing the Tar Heels to Sioux Falls in December."
