WNBA star Sophie Cunningham, while not an elite player on the court, has become a star off it.
On Tuesday, the Indiana Fever guard lashed out against the city of Los Angeles, calling out some of the high-profile people who populate the streets.
Los Angeles is home to different kinds of celebrities of all kinds, from low-level actors hoping to get a big-time chance to A-listers who spare no expense in lifestyle.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham (8) warms up before a game Friday, Aug. 15, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Cunningham, while attending NBA All-Star Weekend, was in the city of Angeles, and she had a lot to say about how “influencers” behave.
“So, I promise you, I am not being judgmental, ’cause I think there’s a place for legit everyone, and some people thrive in different ar— in different areas,” Cunningham said.
“I don’t think I’m an LA girl. Like, at all. It’s just weird. Like, people don’t dance. People are like… don’t even say hi, don’t… like, they have no personalities. They have no personalities, and they all look the same.
“It’s weird. Please tell me that’s not weird. And like, all these personalities you see on like, Instagram and TikTok, like all these famous influencers… like, I like how they have found a space where they can feel like themselves and gain confidence online. But if you can’t speak to people or look people in the eye, like in person? Is that not weird?
“Am I… am I weird? I mean, I know I’m weird, but like… people just get so used to talking to their phones. Like, talk to someone in person. And look like yourself. Ugh.”
Unfortunately for Cunningham, the Fever have two road games against the Los Angeles Sparks, which means she will need to return in May and July if a WNBA season takes place on time.
