Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham came to the defense of teammate Caitlin Clark after Wednesday's Alyssa Thomas incident.

Cunningham explained her shock at the incident that got Thomas suspended on the latest episode of her podcast Show Me Something with West Wilson. She called Thomas pressing her closed fist on Clark's throat a cheap shot.

"If [Thomas] did that to any of our teammates, we would be pissed," Cunningham said on the episode. "[Opposing players are] definitely targeting her, and the league and the refs do nothing to protect her."

What was her reaction in the moment? Well, according to Cunningham, they weren't aware it happened until after the fact.

"During real time [on Wednesday night], I did not see that happen," Cunningham said. "None of our team saw it happen because I promise you that, if we would have seen that happen, we would have had her back. Unfortunately, this type of [expletive] happens every single game to her, and the league and the refs do absolutely nothing about it."

Cunningham has never been afraid to speak her mind, and she absolutely did not hold back here.
