The Nebraska men's basketball team received some good news regarding its roster for the 2026-27 season. The team's leading scorer last season, Pryce Sandfort, announced his return to the team next season.
The former Iowa Hawkeye had a breakout season for Nebraska. He averaged 18.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Sandfort did that while averaging 33.6 minutes per game and shooting 47.9% from the floor, 41.6% from the 3-point line and 85.5% from the free throw line.
This is the second significant roster move for the Huskers this season. Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year Braden Frager announced his return to the team for the upcoming season.

A masterclass
The retention of Frager & Sandfort might be the most impressive Fred Hoiberg masterclass we’ve seen in awhile considering some of the teams that were lurking in the shadows for a portal entry.

Legend
After the season he just had, Pryce Sandfort is likely already an all-time Nebraska basketball player in the eyes of many.
However, a second year jump under Fred Hoiberg’s tutelage could cement Sandfort as a legend.
Like, a legitimate, jersey up in the rafters type of legend. https://t.co/v3mBryRzRe

So happy
This is so sick I’m actually incredibly happy I get to continue watching Sandfort ball
If he entered the draft I’m willing to guarantee the Kings would’ve taken him 34th overall and I never would’ve seen him play basketball again https://t.co/Qv3zlWK5X3

Rafters in the future
Sandfort can hang his jersey in the rafters at PBA with another season like the last one. https://t.co/me04ZL7WxQ
