Nebraska men's basketball picked up an accolade on Monday afternoon. Pryce Sandfort was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week for the second time this season.
Sandfort earned the accolade alongside Northwestern’s Nick Martinelli after finishing the week scoring 48 points and going 17-of-34 across two games. He also shot 8-of-21 from beyond the arc and 6-of-6 from the free throw line and secured 14 total rebounds.
Sandfort struck big in Nebraska's win over USC, tallying 32 points for his third 30-point game of the season and his second in the last three games. He shot 12-of-21 against the Trojans, 5-of-10 from three-point range. Sandfort scored 20 in the second half to help the Huskers rally to an 82-67 win and their school record 14th conference win.
He also posted 16 points in Nebraska's win over Maryland earlier in the week, going 5-of-13 and 3-of-11. Sandfort also secured eight rebounds and four assists. He shot 3-of-3 at the free-throw line in both games.
Sandfort received the Big Ten player of the week back in December following Nebraska’s wins over Wisconsin and Illinois. On the season, he averages 18.3 points per game and leads the Big Ten in 3-pointers per game, averaging 3.7. Sandfort is also seventh in the conference in 3-point percentage (.408) and 11th in field goal percentage (.479).
