It's Christmas in July at the ballpark, and our Empty Stocking Fund will be part of the fun!
Stop by our table on the Covenant Health Park concourse at the Knoxville Smokies game July 11 to learn about how our nonprofit serves 3,000 families each Christmas. We're collecting donations now to help determine how many families we can help this season.
As grocery prices remain stubbornly high, we want to be there for East Tennesseans in need over the holidays!
Come learn how the News Sentinel Charities Empty Stocking Fund has served families every Christmas since at least 1912, and how our mission has remained steady to be there for our neighbors.

Our nonprofit is 100% volunteer-run, so every dollar collected goes into the effort to serve families. We pack and distribute thousands of hearty meal boxes with ingredients for a special holiday meal plus enough food to get through the week.
Qualifying families receive a 5-pound ham, fresh fruit and vegetables, side dishes, coffee, bread and staples like soup, chicken, oatmeal, pasta, peanut butter and more.
Empty Stocking Fund volunteers at Covenant Health Park will collect your cash and credit card donations (it's all tax-deductible!) and hand out exclusive baseball cards featuring the Savannah Bananas and Knoxville icons, along with copies of our special edition about the Knoxville Smokies, One Knox SC and the stadium.
