PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers play host to the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday to begin the final 10-game stretch of the regular season. The Sixers are in the process of making one final push to get into the top 6 and guarantee themselves a playoff spot rather than battling through the play-in.
The Sixers will welcome Paul George back to the lineup against the Bulls as he returns from his 25-game suspension. He will give Philadelphia some help on both ends of the floor in order to give them some depth and another scoring option for this group.
"Get some rhythm," coach Nick Nurse said on George for his return. "Get some conditioning. Like we talked about in the past, he really brings a more solidifying approach to our defense. He’s kind of a captain back there. Things get more solid with him in there. So I think he can do that immediately. We want his points. We want his buckets, too. As long as we can give him the ball and find him some rhythm and, especially, create some spacing and good decision on offense."
As for Joel Embiid, the big fella is back in the lineup. The 2023 MVP winner has not played since Feb. 26 due to a right oblique strain and will return to the floor after missing the previous 13 games. He will look to get back into rhythm and give the Sixers a big boost over the final stretch.
"They haven’t said anything to me about it, but I would say hopefully, we won’t go overboard on it," Nurse said.
The Sixers and the Bulls will tip off at 7 p.m. EDT from the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
